Jack C. Bruce, 88, of Wadsworth, Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Barberton Hospital.

Jack was born April 21, 1926 to the late Violet Bruce Freed and George Bruce.

He served as a mechanic in The United States Air Force and later retired from a life long career at Freed Ford in Wadsworth.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet G. Hornyak Bruce, on November 25, 2013. They had celebrated 69 years of marriage and she was the light of his life.

Together they enjoyed golfing and spending their winters in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Richard “Rick” Bruce.

He is survived by a daughter, Maral Meredith of Canal Fulton, and a son, Mike (Terri) Bruce of Wadsworth and a daughter in law, Phyllis Bruce, of Forrest, Virginia. Grandchildren: Kelli (Mike) Aud, Lance (Tracy) Bruce, Teri Hannell, Jeff (Lisa) Hannell, Richelle Gonzalez, Curtis (Jaimee) Rood, Sara (Aaron) Hochstetler, Heather Russo, Chris (Vanessa) Meredith, Jason (Brittany) Bruce and Annie (George) Kleines, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Private services will be held for the family and burial will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
