James L. Varney, 70, of Wadsworth passed away Sept. 12, 2017. He was born December 1, 1946 to the late Richard and Marguerite Varney.

Mr. Varney was a proud Vietnam Veteran, having served in the US Marine Corps. He enjoyed NASCAR, cars, gardening, and riding motorcycles. He was a member of the Wadsworth’s VFW Post 1089, American Legion Post #170, Eagles Aerie 2117, and Moose Lodge 2070.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; daughters, Alexandra E. Varney, Loretta (Lori) Fluharty, and Marguerite Ring; granddaughter, Makenzie  J. Cook; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Janice (Kenny) Shoup and Donna (Richard) Wise; and special aunts and uncles, Alice and Frank Taylor, and Betty and Paul Roach.

Family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30pm at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. Service will follow at 1:30pm with Rev. Daniel Doty officiating. Family welcomes you to join them immediately following the service for a luncheon at the Eagles 2117.
