Ronald “Ron” C. Johnson passed away peacefully Thursday, January 5th, 2012.
Ron graduated from Wooster Business College and attended San Jose, CA State College.
Ron was a member of the American Legion Honor Guard and served his county in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sgt-Flight Engineer on B-26’s during the Korean War, based at Chanute Air Force Base, IL. Ron retired from Federal and State Civil Service after 25 years.
Ron enjoyed airplanes, boats, and his beloved ’84 El Camino that he took to many car shows.
He was preceded in death by parents Harry and Claudia “Becker” Johnson, son Jeff, and daughter Teri.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathy “Wolf” Johnson, son Greg Johnson of Wooster area, and daughter Dawn Matzinger of Cour-D-Alene, Idaho, brother Tim Johnson of Medina, Sister-in-Law Kay Grubb, Brother and Sister-in-Law Marvin and Sharon Wolf, several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, from 4-8PM at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 10, at 11:00 AM with the Reverend James Singleton officiating. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina, or Smile Train, P.O. Box 96211, Washington D.C. 20090-6211.
