Obituary
William Jurey, 86, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on November 24, 2016. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on May 24, 1930. He was raised in Youngstown and graduated from the Case Institute of Technology in 1952 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He joined PPG Industries in Barberton immediately upon graduation. He and his beloved wife moved to Wadsworth where they raised their four children. He retired from PPG in 1992 after 40 years.
He was an active member of Sacred Heart Church. After retirement he became active in the Wadsworth Center for Older Adults serving on the Senior Commission and assisting older adults as a volunteer AARP tax counselor and Medicare Prescription Drug program counselor. He served on the Wadsworth Electric Power Supply Advisory Commission and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for several decades. He enjoyed golfing and cards with his family and friends and was quick to lend a hand to others. He had a knack for DIY challenges and used that talent over the years in his own home and on projects for his family and friends.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosemarie (Siller); sons Chris (Anne) and Ted (Kim) of Wadsworth, OH; daughters Gail Jurey of Tipp City, OH and Jenny (John) Kopilchack of Lima, OH; grandchildren Jason (Peri) Jurey, Katie Jurey, Johnny (Lexi) Kopilchack, Cody Kopilchack, Casey Kopilchack, Anthony Jurey, and Andy Jurey; great grandchildren Max Jurey, Roman Jurey and Lucy Kopilchack. He will be missed greatly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 272 Broad St. Wadsworth, Ohio on Friday December 2, 2016 at 11am. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior, from 10-11am. Memorial contributions can be made to Sacred Heart Church or Meals on Wheels.
