Kathleen “Kelly” Dutt

Kelly Dutt, 86, passed away from complication due to pancreatic cancer on June 25, 2014.

Born Kathleen Williams in Akron, OH on December 27, 1927 to Elsie and Joseph Williams. She got her nickname “Kelly” at an early age from her older brother, Joe Williams II. And it stuck. In her early teens she, her mother, brother, and older sister June (Dunsha) moved out to a farm in Coddingville, in Medina County. She easily adapted to being a farm girl driving tractors and doing chores. She also had a “Dance Hall” within walking distance down the street where she started her love of dancing. Whether it was jitter bugging, slow dancing, square dancing, and then later year clogging and line dancing. She eventually met up with a returning WWII Veteran, and Harley riding Sharon Center boy, Glen Dutt. They were married on December 28, 1948. After a handful of years and some traveling around the U.S. they started a family. Douglas 1954, Gordon 1956, and Darlene 1960. Besides her love of motorcycle riding (which she was quite capable of riding herself). Glen started her on her second passion after dancing…golf! Kelly was quite good at golf and usually ended up in one of the top spots for each club tournament. Even being Club Champ and runner up at Rawiga CC. She was a member of Wadsworth DAV auxiliary, Women of Moose Medina #968 and O.E.S. #266 Medina.

She will miss her talks and travels with lifelong friend Janet. Golfing with Jeanne and Linda. Hitting the dance floors with Betty, Sandy, Dennis, and fellow line dancers. And time shared with Larri, Arla, Roy, Theresa, and other friends. She will be deeply missed by many awesome nieces and nephews. Kelly was proceeded in death by her parents, brother Joe, sister June, husband Glen, and oldest son Douglas. She is survived by son Gordon of Sharon Center, and daughter Darlene (Marsha Lewis) of Newport News, VA.

It will be a sad thing to see a dance floor without Kelly on it. But now she has all the time she needs for a quick nine holes, a short motorcycle ride, and then to dance the night away!

A very special thank you to the staff at The Hospice of Medina. Memorial contributions may be made to The Medina County SPCA or Hospice of Medina.

The family will receive friends at The Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth on Sunday, June 29 from 10 AM -12 PM and 1 PM -2 PM, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM. Interment will be at Sharon Cemetery.
