Lester Kemmerer, 96, of Wadsworth passed away Thursday October, 7, 2010. He was born on September 2, 1914 in Southeast Wadsworth to the late Jacob ad Bertha Kemmerer. At the age of 8 he moved from the house he was born in moving to his childhood home and remained there for over 80 years. Lester was a life long farmer, a devoted husband and father. His main recreational outlet was ballroom dancing where he met his wife Julie and in later years they both enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Rittman Grand Squares for over 20 years.
Mr. Kemmerer was preceded in death by six siblings and his wife Julie A. Kemmerer on September 2, 2006 with whom he had celebrated 53 years of marriage and six siblings.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law Liz and Dennis Burkhart of Doylestown, two sons and daughters in law James and Dolores Kemmerer of Seattle, WA and Eugene and Carol Kemmerer of Rittman. His grandchildren Brian (Kristi) Burkhart of Wadsworth, Steven Burkhart of Colorado, Jacob, Danielle and Andrew Kemmerer of Seattle, WA and Robert (Jennifer) Kemmerer of Wooster also surviving.
The family will receive friends1:00 – 2:30 PM Saturday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 PM.
Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
