James W. Kern, 77, of Wadsworth, passed away on November 22, 2022. He was born on October 28, 1945 in Medina, OH to the late Carl and Virginia Kern.

James’ joy in life came from woodworking, gardening, tinkering on his cars and tractors, and spending time with his family. He was an Army veteran serving in the Vietnam war and a longtime member of the Medina County Antique Power Association.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Kern; granddaughter, Olivia Kern, and his sister, Virginia Lee.

He is survived by his children, Cathy (T J) Hilton, Jeff (Virginia) Kern and James Kern; his grandchildren, Thomas and Steven (Alyssa) Hilton, Nicky White, Jordan Kern, Brian and Kristen Sinley, and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters, Judy (Bob) Baker and Joyce (Terry) Cadle, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 30 from 6-8pm and Thursday, December 1 from 1-2pm at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted 2pm on Thursday, December 1 2022 with Pastor Josiah Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family request memorial donations be made to Medina County Antique Power Association.
