Bettie "Jean"

The beloved Bettie “Jean” Kline (nee Beard), 88, of Edinburg, OH, was peacefully called home to the Lord on Saturday, November 26th, 2022 surrounded by her life’s greatest joy: her family.

Jean was born on November 24th, 1934, in Akron, OH, to Goodyear worker-turned World War II soldier, Albert George Beard, Jr. and homemaker-turned-“Rosie the Riveter,” Helen Marie Jean Drollinger. Growing up in the North Hill area of Akron, she enjoyed attending school and always said she received “excellent” marks.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 58 years: Russell Kline, daughter Mary, siblings William and Carol, and Uncle Fred Beard.

She is survived by six children: David (Jane) Kline of Alliance, OH; Kim (Mark) Mollohan of Seville. OH; Kathy (John) Ireland of Orrville, OH; Kelly (Jerry) Brode of Columbus, OH; Derek (Dani) Kline of Canfield, OH; and Kara of Pueblo, CO; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Jean always said her goal was to always be there for her family. While she is no longer with us in the physical form, we know she is watching over us. The family takes peace in knowing that she is now reunited with her one true love, Russell.
