Clement E. Koval, 92, of Wadsworth, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024. He was born July 13, 1931, in Barberton to the late Andrew and Pauline (nee Lestensky) Koval.

Mr. Koval was a graduate of Barberton High School; a United States Marine having served in the Korean War and was retired from Consolidated Freightways. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and an active member of the Soprema Senior Center. He enjoyed helping his family, friends and neighbors fix anything, fishing, and tractor rides with the grandchildren, working on cars, taxidermy and hand making furniture.

He was preceded in death by his sisters: Cecilia Koval, Gertrude Koval, Margaret Filley, brothers: Joseph Koval, John Gercak, Edward Gercak, and great grandson Carter Samic.

Clement is survived by his wife Mary with whom he celebrated 69 years of marriage, children; Cindi Samic (Ron), Mike Koval (Sue – deceased), Lori Koval Cardina (Ken), Julie Matheny (Douglas), Jeff Koval (Judith), seven grandchildren; Josh Samic (Jennifer), Julie Perrin (Ryan), Jenna Samic, Haley Barkley (Brandon), Tony Matheny (Mary), Jeremy Koval-Stults (Andrea), and Steven Cardina.

He is also survived by nine great grandchildren: Ashley Samic, Hunter Samic, Thomas Bice, Haylee Bice, Jaxon Perrin, Lennox Perrin, Bexlee Samic, Daxton Case, and Rose Matheny.

Private services will be held for the family and Mr. Koval will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Military Honors.
