Obituary
Dr. Joseph P. Kraska Jr. M.D., 64, formerly of Wadsworth more recently of Defiance, OH, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
He was born on December 29, 1947 in Wadsworth, OH to the late Joseph P. Sr. and Julia Kraska. Dr. Kraska was a graduate of Wadsworth high School Class of 1966, he then received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Akron and later graduated from Spartan Health Science University, West Indies.
Upon graduation from medical school and passing his board exams he received his Board Certification in Family Practice. He then worked with Western Reserve Health Care Systems in Youngstown, OH later he joined the Defiance Clinic in Defiance, OH also working at Mercy Defiance Hospital and was the Medical Director at the Continental Correctional Facility. Joe was a sports enthusiast, enjoyed golfing, water skiing, enjoyed going to car shows, collecting sports cars and die cast cars.
He is survived by his wife Theresa, son Joseph Paul Kraska III of Creston, daughter and son-in-law Holley and Dominic Iacona of Hinckley and four grandchildren Joseph Paul IV and Hayden Kraska and Angelina and Gianna Iacona. He is also survived by his siblings Judy and Jay Parsons, Joyce and Norman VanEck all of Wadsworth, Jan and Shelley Kraska of Greensboro, NC, several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.
The family will receive friends 12-2PM Saturday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM. There will be a memorial service held at Mercy Defiance Hospital early next week. Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation, 200 Oceangate, Suite 830, Long Beach, CA, 90802.
