Kreider, Lois Mae

Lois Mae Kreider, 86, formerly of Westfield Center, more recently of Wadsworth, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011. She was born on June 29, 1925 in Wadsworth to the late Arden and Isa Rohrer.
Mrs. Kreider was a graduate of Wadsworth High School, class of 1943. After graduation she rode the street car to Akron where she attended the University of Akron. She worked at the Ohio Match Co. for 5 years, the Ohio Injector for 5 years and retired from the Westfield Insurance Co. after 26 years of service. She became one of the first female underwriters who worked in the field. After retiring from Westfield, she went to work for the Smucker Insurance Agency in Medina. When she was not working, Mrs. Kreider enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and square dancing.
She was preceded in death by her husband Merle with whom she had celebrated 57 1/2 years of marriage, and by her stepmother from the age of three, Madalane Rohrer, and by two brothers, Arden and Raymond Rohrer.
Mrs. Kreider is survived by her children and their spouses: Janet and Ron Keyser of Wadsworth, Elizabeth and Robert Dye of Wadsworth, Eric and Margaret Kreider of Uniontown, and Karyn and Fred Cleavely of Westfield Center. There are nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister, Fern Brady, and one brother, Jerry Rohrer.
Family members are invited to a graveside service at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 26 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth.
