Dale E. Lawrence, 87, of Wadsworth passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday November, 19, 2012. He was born March 30, 1925 in Conneaut, OH to the late Harold W. and Mary L. Lawrence. He was a member of Wadsworth United Methodist Church and was a Veteran of WWII having served in the Army Air Corps and was stationed at Ascension Island. He was employed by Tubbesing Dry Goods for 15 years, he then went to work at PCA as a package designer and later moved to Madison, OH working for the Lawless Co. until he retired and later moved back to Wadsworth in 1997.
Dale enjoyed golfing, ceramics, magic tricks, was a very talented artist, a charter member of the Foot Lighters and was an avid reader.
He was preceded in death by his brother Keith Lawrence.
Dale is survived by his wife Louise (nee Tubbesing) with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage, his son and daughter in law Mark and Beth Lawrence of Frankfort, IL, son Steven Lawrence of Los Angeles, CA and daughter and son in law Diane and Greg Firis of Wadsworth. There are four grandchildren and their spouses: Matthew (Jessika) Lawrence, Anne (Keith) Orlosky, Daniel (Shaina) Lawrence and Danielle (Clinton) Fazekus and four great grandchildren: April, Corbin, Olivia and Daniel Jr.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Sunday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth. A Memorial service will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday at Wadsworth United Methodist Church, 1795 Broad St. Wadsworth with Pastor Don Ebert officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
