Eva Lehner, 92 of Wadsworth passed away Nov. 1, 2023. Eva was born in Gaschinci, Yugoslavia on Aug. 8, 1931 to the late Franz and Theresia (Nebenfir) Berg.
Her family fled Yugoslavia during the war and found themselves in a refugee camp in Linz, Austria. There Eva met and married her husband of 50 years, Andy Lehner. In 1952 they left Austria with 2 small children and immigrated to the United States.
Eva is survived by her children Frank, Chriss, Tony, and Ann. Oma to Scott, Shelley, Missy, Lisa, Ty, Amy, Sam and Gabby.
Eva was an active member of the German Family Society since 1960. She held many positions on the board and created a dance group of adults that performed in and outside of the club. She developed so many friendships over the years that the Society became her second family.
She enjoyed playing cards, cooking to feed anyone (no one left our home hungry), spending time with her second family, the German Family Society, listening to German radio programs on Tuesday and Saturday, watching game shows and travel of any kind, but cruising was the best.
We are heartbroken at the loss of her in our daily lives, but we are truly grateful to the good Lord who gave us such a blessing and a good example.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Wadsworth. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to your favorite charity and do an act of kindness.
