Warren Edward Longfield, 87, of Wadsworth passed away Monday, December 5, 2011. Born January 22, 1924 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Nathan and Theresa Longfield.
Warren was a 52 year member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ Wadsworth OH where he enjoyed singing in the church chancel choir for over 40 years, was retired from Babcock and Wilcox, enjoyed quilting with his wife in their retirement years where they made over 30 quilts for family and friends, family vacations at the Outer Banks, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by wife Marion, with whom he celebrated over 64 years of marriage.
He is survived sons and daughters-in-law; Keith and Karen Longfield of Wadsworth, Eugene and Viki Longfield of St. Louis, MO, and Bruce and Joelene Longfield of Austintown, OH. There are 6 grandchildren; Erick (Sarah) Longfield, Kristie Longfield, Jason (Leslie) Longfield, Valerie (Craig) Ross, Katie (Daniel) Boarman, and Chad (Sarah) Longfield, 5 great grandchildren Annabelle Marion and Daniel Edward Boarman Jr., Jaden Nicole and Ashlyn Jane Longfield, and Abigail Leigh Ross.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday, December 8, at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth. Funeral services will be conducted at 10AM Friday, December 9, at First Christian Church, 116 E. Boyer St., Wadsworth, with Rev. James Singleton officiating. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
