Martha W. Maple (McCutchen) 84, died on August 10, 2015. She was born in Garrettsville, Ohio on September 10, 1930. She was a graduate of Fredicksburg High School and Ohio Wesleyan University. She was an elementary teacher and a member of Wadsworth United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for 50 years. She enjoyed playing handbells and was talented enough to play handbell solos. She enjoyed researching her family genealogy and liked to travel to places where her ancestors lived. She loved to quilt and spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed antiques and was a member of the Norton Historical Society. She learned to play the piano when she was young and continued to entertain her friends at her assisted living. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev.Robert McCutchen, Waive McCuthchen, her husband Stanley E. Maple, two brothers, John and Dean, one sister, Luella. She is survived by one sister, Harriet. She is also survived by her children, Janet (Aiyb) Dieng of Florida, Doug (Kathy) Maple of Wadsworth, Lisa (Walter) Guzylak of Michigan. She has one brother-in-law, David and Kathleen Maple of North Carolina, She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kaylee, Kristin, Maguette, and Ana and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend, Wilson Greig of Columbia, South Carolina.
Visitation will be held at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth, Oh, Sunday from 1-4pm. Services will be held on Monday at Wadsworth United Methodist Church at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be in Spring Hills, West Virginia. Donations can be made to the Wadsworth United Methodist Church music department 195 Broad Street, Wadsworth, Oh.
