Marian Bradford Mardis, passed away on March 12, 2011, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Marian was born in Florence, Kentucky, graduated from the University of Cincinnati, and was a long time resident and raised her family in
Wadsworth, Ohio. She was a substitute and full time teacher in the Wadsworth school system for many years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy. She is survived by her husband Bill, sons Bruce (Anne), Brad (Sharon), daughter Mimi (Dave); grandchildren Tiffany (Nate), Kathryn, Amanda, Colin, Liam and great grandchildren, Austin and Andrew. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law, cousin, sister and friend to many. She truly treasured all the friendships she had in her literary club, daughters of the British Empire chapter and St. Marks’s Church.
The family will receive Friends from 9:30 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 19 in the undercroft of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 146 College St., Wadsworth where a memorial service will follow in the sanctuary at 11:00 AM .
Among her many interests and passions in life, Marian had a special love for animals and nature and was a long time member of the SPCA. In lieu of flowers, donations may made to the SPCA or any conservation group.
