Obituary
Forest A. “Bud” McCaman Jr., 73, of Wadsworth passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Born July 25, 1936 in Wadsworth to the late Forest and Marguerite McCaman.
Mr. McCaman was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church and a graduate of Wadsworth High School. He began his career at the age of 11 as a Pin Boy at Chaney’s Bowling Center. At 16 he became a Foul Boy at Kolony Lanes.
He eventually went to work at Riviera Lanes as the Pro Shop Manager and was in charge of lane maintenance, then working his way up to the ranks of General Manager.
He purchased Lonier Bowling Supply in 1979, now known as McCaman Bowling Supply., and in 1995 he purchased Mohican Bowling Lanes, which fulfilled his life dream.
During his career he had the opportunity to bowl with various professional bowlers. He achieved his first 300 game on November 8, 2006. He was inducted into the Medina County Bowlers Hall of Fame in 2001.
Above all Bud enjoyed his family, always giving to and looking out for others. His past times included bowling, fishing, golfing, and playing cards with his grandkids.
Preceded in death by his grandson Timothy Smith, five brothers; Dallas, Clyde, Gene, RG, and Dan McCaman, and one sister Donna McInroy.
Bud is survived by his wife Catherine “Kathy” (nee Rech), with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage this past August, daughter and son-in-law Michele and Paul Keller of Barberton, and sons and daughters-in-law Ken and Lisa McCaman and Dennis and Nancy Smith all of Wadsworth. There are 6 grandchildren; Steven (Heather) Smith, Christopher, Mindy, and Kyle Keller, and Joshua and Adam McCaman, 3 great grandchildren, and his siblings; Faye
(John) Wanko, Lavon (Jerry) Henthorn, Joyce Housch, Leon (Lorene) McCaman, and Gary McCaman.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 9282 Acme Rd., Seville with Rev. Edward Kropa officiating. The family will receive friends 3-8 PM Friday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth, and one hour prior to services from 10-11 Saturday at the church. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
