Obituary
Leonard Megee passed away on September 18, 2018 at the age of 90. He was born in Brea, CA to Charles W. and Murl (Midkiff) Megee. In 1989 he retired after 28 years as an electronic technician at Motorola in Phoenix, AZ. He and his beloved wife, Joanne, moved to Ohio to be closer to family, and have resided in Wadsworth for the past 25 years. Leonard was a member of The First Christian Church where he sang in the choir and often played his violin during Sunday morning services. He loved his church and his many friends, especially his Friday night card club and the Sunday lunch bunch.
Leonard was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and he and Joanne made many trips to their spring training in Florida. They also enjoyed several cruises with the team.
He is survived by his adoring wife, Joanne, children Leonard Jr., (Meg) Megee, Michael (Jan) Megee, Rick (Connie) Megee, Dr. Tom (Donna) Cole, Vicki (Steve) Fox, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his beautiful rescue kitties Cupcake and Muffin.
Leonard had a huge heart and loved his family, his friends, his church and made a great impression on everyone he met. He was dearly loved and admired by his family and will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Altercare of Wadsworth for their compassionate and professional care. They are truly angels.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, September 23, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 North Lyman Street, Wadsworth. Celebration of Life services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 AM, with viewing for one hour prior to the service at the First Christian Church, 116 E. Boyer Street in Wadsworth. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Leonard’s name to the church or to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) at 8790 Guilford, Seville, OH 44273.
