Rosine S. Mellon, 89, of Wadsworth and a resident at The Inn of CoalRidge passed away on Wednesday August 25, 2016 at Hospice of Medina County.  She was born June 17, 1927 in McKeesport, PA to the late Earl and Mary Johnston. Mrs Mellon was a member of the Granger United Methodist Church.  Rosine and her late husband Norris “Smitty” were devoted parents, not only raising their family but continuing as foster parents, providing a loving home to 14 babies over an 8 year period.

People were drawn to Rosine, and it was common to hear people say “I just love her”.  She was known to many simply as grandma.  She will be greatly missed by her family, the staff at the Inn of CoalRidge, and her many friends.

Rosine is survived by her children: Norris “Sonny” and Aleta Mellon, Robert and Sandy Mellon, Shirley and Michael Berry, grandchildren; Stacey (John) Trone, Shaun (Patricia) Mellon, Anna Dodson, Julie Dodson, Adam (Elizabeth) Dodson, and great grandchildren Tajia and Kylee Trone, Makenna Santarelli, and Mason and Colton Dodson.

There will be a funeral service conducted at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, August 30th, at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, OH with Rev. Dave Maly officiating.  The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:30 AM.  Internment will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Granger United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, in Rosine’s name, 1235 Granger Rd., Medina, OH 44256.
