Amanda L. Merkle, cherished wife and loving mother, beloved daughter of Lewis Debevec, Jr. and the late Diane Debevec, adored daughter-in-law of the late Norman and Renee Merkle, a valiant cancer warrior, went home to the Lord on June 14, 2024, at the age of 54

Mourning her loss are her husband of almost 29 years, Stephen Merkle; her children Faith (Matthew) Klein, Evan and Logan Merkle; her sister Cynthia (James) Cavanaugh and children Madeleine and Andrew; her father Lewis Debevec, Jr.; brother-in-law Rick Merkle (Lee Peterson) of Asbury, IA; sister-in-law Mona Merkle of Madison, WI

Amanda was a dedicated teacher for 30 years in the Copley-Fairlawn School District, teaching long enough to educate a second generation of kindergarten students. She was a proud alumna of Grove City College and a faithful member of Northside Christian Church in Wadsworth.

The family would like to thank all of the prayer warriors who supported Amanda and the caregivers at the Cleveland Clinic.

Amanda’s life will be celebrated 4-7PM, Thursday June 20, 2024, at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. A graveside service will be held 11am Friday, June 21 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 2580 Romig Rd., Akron, OH.
