James Gary Metcalf, age 69, quietly sang the “Frog Song” on October 1, 2010.
He is survived by his wife Margie; daughters Andrea McBride (Mark), Jennifer Snowden; son, Greg Metcalf; grandchildren, Shannon, Katelyn, Colin and Tessa; and brother Fred (Madonna) Metcalf. He was preceded in death by parents, James and Della Metcalf; and sister, Jean Metcalf.
He enjoyed his final years of retirement working in the yard and garden, doing home improvements, leaving behind, among other things, a beautiful handcrafted gazebo in the back yard.
He would have liked to remain here a little longer, but he had a call back on a Dial Soap commercial on another plane of existence.
Family will receive friends Monday, October 4, from 6 to 8 PM at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home 174 North Lyman Street; and 2-3 PM on Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church 146 High Street. A celebration of his life will follow at 3:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church, 146 High Street, Wadsworth, Ohio. All are welcome to attend the bereavement meal that will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.
