Obituary

Maryann
Wiesen
Miller
Wadsworth, OH

On May 20, 2023, Maryann Wiesen Miller went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus. Maryann was born January 25, 1959 in Wadsworth, Ohio to the late John and Naomi Wiesen.
Maryann was proud of her Wadsworth roots and later graduated from Dekalb High School in Fort Wayne, IN. Upon moving back to Ohio, Maryann completed her education at Stark State College and served tirelessly as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg, while also serving as a volunteer on the Prairie Township Fire Department. She found her passion in serving others, while bringing them a smile as they recovered from illness.
Maryann married Floyd Miller of Holmes County and gave birth to a son, Michael, in 1980. She then gave birth once more in 1990 to a daughter, Laura (Miller) Clelland.
Maryann was passionate about her Catholic Faith and encouraged her children from a young age to place their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who knew Maryann cherished her witty sense of humor. She was never one to allow a room to be disheartened, instead, lifting people up with her comedic personality! Finally, it would be remiss to not mention her love for her kitty cats, even enjoying time with her Josie the evening before she went home to the Lord.
“Momma Millo,” perhaps even more widely-known as “Grandma Nan” took great joy in watching “her grandbabies” grow. In recent years, having been sidelined by chronic illnesses, Maryann loved having visits from family, but even when not in person, she loved connecting via letters, phone calls and social media. She always made sure to let her family know they were loved and that she was praying for them.
Maryann was preceded in death by her mother and father, Naomi (Barger) Wiesen and John Wiesen, siblings Larry Wiesen, John Wiesen, Jr., and Rene Culliver.
She is survived by her children Mike (Alexis) Miller of Wooster, Laura (Todd) Clelland of Holmesville, siblings Jim (Mary) Chapek of Albuquerque, NM and Debra (Martin) Gallvan of Florence, AZ, as well as her grandchildren Raegan and Coulter Miller of Wooster.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday May 23 from 10am-11am, followed by a funeral service at 11am, at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home in Wadsworth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Compassionate Care Hospice in Akron.
