Richard F. (Dick) Miller, 84 passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Born August 26, 1934 in Cleveland,Ohio, Dick was a graduate of Independence High School and Hiram College. He traveled the Ohio River on the Hiram Show Boat ” Majestic” for several summers, where he met his wife Janice (Wilson) Miller. They would have been married 60 years on December 22, 2018. A Teacher at Coventry High School for 30years, he directed many school plays, minstrel shows and coached the Coventry Wrestling team, bringing home three State Titles in ’78,’79 and ’80. Lured back into coaching when his son entered high school, Dick was an assistant wrestling coach at Wadsworth where he helped to start the GIT Tournament. After retirement, Dick worked at Wadsworth’s Holmesbrook Hardware and Bicksler Electric, “just for fun”.

Preceded in death by his parents William and Grace Miller, infant son Scottie, brother Donald and sister-in-law Joan (Wilson) Winter, he leaves to cherish his memory; wife Janice, daughter Tari (Randy Glover), son Keith (Tonya) Miller, beloved grandsons Jordan and Dawson Miller, sister Martha (Tom) Cross, sister-in-law Diane Miller, brother-in-law Dean Winter and 8 nieces and nephews and their families.

An Avid Wadsworth Grizzly, Heath Hawk (Heath, Texas) and Cleveland Indians fan, we know he will continue to cheer them on from above.

A celebration of his life will take place on Sunday September 30, 2018 at the Wadsworth First Christian Church, 116 E. Boyer St., Wadsworth, Ohio. Visitation will be from 2-4pm with services immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the Wadsworth Wrestling Program in care of the Wadsworth High School Athletic Department or to the Wadsworth Lions Club Scholarship Fund.
