James “Jim” Mills, Sr., 73 of Wadsworth passed away Friday, October 28, 2011. He was born April 10, 1938 in West Palm Beach, FL to the late Thetous and Agnes Mills. Mr. Mills moved to Akron with his parents and then to Wadsworth where he attended Wadsworth High School. Jim was an active 4-H member in his youth and loved everything about the great outdoors. He began driving a milk truck at the age of 17, hauling raw milk from the farms & delivering to the it to the Lawson Dairy. He was an over-the-road trucker for over 40 years criss-crossing the country numerous times. He was employed most recently by Rupp farms. He enjoyed going hunting, fishing and splitting wood with his son.
Jim was preceded in death by his son Michael “Scotty” Mills. He is survived by his son James O. Mills Jr., and sister and brother in law Cheryl (Francis) Vetter. The family will receive friends Wednesday 5-8PM at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 260 Broad St. Wadsworth with Fr. Joseph Labak, celebrant. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Heart Church Building Fund, 260 Broad St. Wadsworth, Oh. 44281 or Medina County SPCA 245 S. Medina St., Medina , Oh. 44256.
