Obituary

Maxine
Mobley
Wadsworth, OH

Veva “Maxine” Mobley (Laird) passed away March 13, 2017. She was born on Sep. 1, 1923 in Kenmore, OH to Veva Ella Laird (Brown) and George Haines Laird. Both were originally from Rockport, IN; which was a place very dear to Maxine’s heart.

She graduated from Kenmore High School receiving both the America Legion and Woman’s Cup Awards. She attended Akron University, worked for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company and Oneil’s Dept Store as a phone operator. She married Edward L. Mobley, Jr., also from Kenmore, and had 3 sons: Cliff Mobley (deceased), Ed Mobley (Peggy) – Westerville, and Doug Mobley (Laurie) – Wadsworth.

She had so many wonderful friends over the years including those in her High School “club” group, neighbors from Woodland and Crestwood Ave., the United Methodist Church in Wadsworth, and those at Liberty Residence and Altercare.

She was always deeply involved in the lives of her family, had a very friendly spirit and a tender, caring heart. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, in bridge club, the Garden Club, Welcome Wagon, Parmi Nous, the Rawiga Country Club Ladies League, and the church choir. Just to list a few of her many activities.

Throughout her life, she was a devoted housewife, mother, and helper to many. She assisted her husband in the family Skill Center hobby store and traveled with him on many business trips across the United States.

She loved the Lord and the Bible and spread that love to her family and friends.

She also dearly loved her grandchildren, Tara Frederick (Joe), Ryan Mobley (Krista) , Jeff Mobley (Meghan), Blake Mobley, Hannah Krumheuer and Aaron Krumheuer along with her great grandchildren Zack, Josh, Noelle, Alexa and Jolene.

The family will receive friends from 10 am on Saturday followed by funeral services at 11 am at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
