Obituary
Nancy R. Mohr was born on December 8, 1938 and entered into her eternal rest on December 4, 2017. Nancy was a member of the Wadsworth community and the Wadsworth United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.
Music and service were important parts of her life. She gave piano lessons in her home for many years and played accompaniment for countless church services, weddings, funerals and recitals. She also played handbells and enjoyed Cleveland Symphony concerts at Blossom Music Center. When she was no longer able to play her beloved Steinway, she donated it to the music department within Wittenberg University to support future music education.
At Wadsworth UMC, Nancy served on many committees and ministries within the church. She was an avid quilter, and put her skills to use in making banners for the sanctuary and organizing a fundraiser for Flat Rock Home’s community services. She was a regular at a weekly group which “met around the quilt frame” and had many friends there.
Nancy was active in the community and always tried to “shop local” even before it was popular. She delivered Meals-on-Wheels and was a Friend of the Library for many years. She also loved to travel and meet new people. When not on the road visiting family and friends, she was seeing the sites across the USA and Europe, and took many trips to Lakeside, Ohio and Chautauqua, New York.
Nancy is survived by her sons David M. Mohr (Karen) and Stephen V. Mohr (Kathy); grandson, John Mohr; brother-in-law, Tom Mohr, sisters -in-law Judy Baker and Kathy Alden (John); numerous nieces and nephews; cousins Fred and Debbie Rowe, and special pals Linda and Sheila. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Mary and Emerson Koehler, and her husband of 38 years, David E. Mohr.
Family will receive friends Monday, December 18 from 3-7pm at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home. Memorial service will be conducted December 19 at 10am at the Wadsworth United Methodist Church, 195 Broad St., with Pastor Don Ebert officiating. Interment will follow at Groveport Cemetery in Groveport, Ohio at 2:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wadsworth UMC or to Flat Rock Homes, P.O. Box 1, Flat Rock, Ohio 44828-0001.
