Mary Elizabeth Montgomery, 100 passed away Wednesday July 17, 2013 at the wonderful age of 100. She was born in Union County, OH on April 8, 1913 to the late Noel B. and Emma (nee White) Montgomery. Mrs. Montgomery lived most of her life in Wadsworth where she owned and operated “Mary’s Beauty Salon ” for 50 years from 1955 until she retired in 2005. Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wadsworth and the Lively Seniors She loved playing cards, the Cleveland Indians and going on Senior trips with her friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Marion, of 35 years, one sister and three brothers and twin grandsons. She is survived by two daughters: Arlene (Kenneth) Roach of Clayton, GA and Camille Wood of Copley, OH.
There are five grandsons and their wives, twelve great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Liberty Residence, Altercare and Dr. Bianco for the wonderful care she has received over the past years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wadsworth United Methodist Church, 195 Broad St., Wadsworth, OH 44281 or Wadsworth Center for older Adults, 617 School Drive, Wadsworth, OH 44281. The family will receive friends 4-8pm Friday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00am Saturday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
