Rita J. Moore, age 80 of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on October 19, 2021. Born in Akron on July 29, 1941 to the late James J. and Viola (Pettit) Hughes, she lived in Goodyear Heights for 37 years prior to moving to Wadsworth seven years ago.

Rita was an avid Bingo player and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was currently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and previously Annunciation Catholic Church. Rita loved being together with her family on any and all holidays.

Along with her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brother, James J. Hughes; sister, Mary Ann Heitz; and grandson, Mark Moore. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles P. Moore; children, David (Debbie) Moore of Tallmadge, Lori (Glenn) Farr of Louisville, Oh., Charlie Moore of Wadsworth, James (Twila) Moore of Mogadore and Tina (Randy) Park of Wadsworth; grandkids, Ashley (Kyle) Parik, Angela (Joe) Sleighter, Beth (Jesse) Zampedro, Jessica (Jacob) Morris, Max Moore, Jack Moore, Tony Park, Davis Moore, Taylor Moore, Drew Park and Tori Moore; great-grandkids, Brennan and Kinsley Sleighter and Blakely and Jax Morris; brother, Patrick (Jan) Hughes of Wadsworth; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Private Memorial Mass for family only will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 25th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 272 Broad St., Wadsworth with Father Joseph Labak presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation.
