Charles Paparone, born on February 22, 1949, in Akron to Arthur and Edna Paparone, passed away on August 18, 2023, after a brief illness. Charlie graduated from Ellet High School and pursued his education at the University of Akron, where he majored in Electrical Engineering.

He is survived by his loving wife, Trudy, and children: Jason (Brandi Kemp), Melanie (Randy Wright), Meredith, and Morgan. Charlie’s legacy also lives on through his grandchildren: Shane, Trent, and Gabrielle. He is also survived by his brother, Art (Lori), sisters Patricia and Karen Coyne (Mike), nephew, John, and numerous lifelong friends dating back to his childhood who will miss his quiet demeanor and huge smile.

Charlie’s memory will be forever cherished by his sisters-in-law, Christine Hubbard (David) and Cynthia Norcia (Jim), as well as his nieces and nephews: Eric Gonzalez (Christine Rippert), Aaron Hubbard, Amanda Hubbard (Kristy Alexander), Jessica Combs (Eric), and Andrew.

Charlie was a man of many passions, including baseball, with a special fondness for the Yankees, as well as golf, fishing, boating, and was an unwavering supporter of the Ohio State University Marching Band and football team.

A gifted athlete, Charlie excelled in both baseball and basketball during high school and was even selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 43rd round of the 1967 MLB Amateur draft. He continued his baseball journey at the University of Akron, where he demonstrated his talent on the pitcher’s mound.

Driven by boundless energy, Charlie dedicated himself to various organizations, notably the Knights of Columbus and the Boy Scouts.

A celebration of Charlie’s vibrant life will take place at the Hilliard Rospert Funeral Home located at 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth, Ohio, on August 30th at 4 pm. Prior to the service, friends are welcome to gather starting at 2 pm to pay their respects.
