William C. “Bill” Pelfrey, 83, of Wadsworth, passed away Sunday August 26, 2012. He was born on January 17, 1929 in Fannin County, GA to the late Charlie and Della Pelfrey. Bill was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Babcock and Wilcox. He studied with the Jehovah’s Witnesses and believed in the Resurrection. Bill was preceded in death by three sisters: Reathel Burgess, Margie Franklin and Christine Byram and three brothers Calvin and Joe Pelfrey and Warren Pack.
Bill is survived by his wife Mildred, daughters Janie(Randy) Pettit, Karen Welday, sons Keith (Cindy) Pelfrey, Kevin (Joy) Pelfrey and William (Rhonda Lees) Pelfrey Jr., his grandchildren: Scott Killough, Brandon Welday, Amber Gaugler, Fonda Paschke, Lisa Brown and Mandi Hays along with 9 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his brothers: Gene, Kenneth and Doc Pelfrey and sisters Lois Patterson, Frances Thomas, Loretta Hedden and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth with Mr. Jack Sommers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
