Charles D. Pennington Sr., 79, of Wadsworth passed away Friday July 19, 2014. He was born April 6, 1936 in Elkins, WV to the late Cecil and Edith Pennington. Mr. Pennington served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and served in the Active Air Force Reserves for 30 years with the 910th Unit out of Youngstown, OH. He was retired from NASA Lewis Research Center after 34 years of service and worked on numerous projects such as the Hubble Space Telescope he was also a member of the Service Men’s Association.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Leon and William.
Charles is survived by his wife Jo of Wadsworth, son Charlie, grandchildren Justin and Abby all of Blacksburg, VA and his siblings Eloise Blizard of Rockville, MD, Jane (Bill) Gainer of Lakeland, FL, Clyde (Nancy) Pennington of Green, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm Wednesday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where the family will receive friends two hour prior to the service from 1 – 3pm. Interment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
