Jerry L. Penrod Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 11th. He was 81 years old. Jerry was born in Barberton to the late Charles and Dorothy (Johnson) Penrod. He graduated from Barberton High School in 1951 and was an Army Veteran.
He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Carol, son Rev. Jerry Penrod Jr. (Cindy), daughter Catherine Lowe (Duane); grandchildren Shaina (Ben), Alicia (Drew), Kris (Paul), Jesse (Ashlee), and Joshua (Alison). He is also survived by his brothers Bryon (Mabel), Don and Bruce (Laureen). Jerry also had five great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday, April 15th at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth and at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 16th at Wadsworth United Methodist Church, 195 Broad St., Wadsworth with the Rev. Donald Ebert officiating. He will be interred at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
