Wayne Matthew Perrin (83) passed away at his home on February 4, 2022. As an Airforce veteran, husband, son, brother, father, and grandfather, Wayne enjoyed spending his time working to support and serve those he loved, using his skills and artistry of woodworking to bring beauty to their lives. With his artistry and skills as a craftsman, he designed and redesigned his own home, built an in-home bar, which won him the Rockler Award for outstanding woodworking, and garnished the homes of his children and friends with hutches, entertainment centers, cabinets, and bookshelves.

He loved antiques and history, Alaskan trips, and the Cleveland Browns. Westerns and sarcastic wit were two other ways he filled his time and as an avid “Do it yourselfer,” he prided himself in his ability to share his knowledge with those he loved.

Wayne’s true love was family, especially his eight grandchildren. He loved teaching his sons and grandchildren how to cook and bake, empowering them to pursue curiosity through building and taking things apart, and creating a place where they all felt loved.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sheila (McGill) Perrin; his three sons and their families—David and Kristin (Jordan and Sydney), Duane and Kelli (Michael, Meghan, Matthew and William), and Daniel and Tricia (Emily and Claire); and his sister Judy Seachrist. He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Mary Perrin and his brother Lee Perrin.

Wayne lived a life well lived, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Wayne’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
