WADSWORTH – Mary Elizabeth Platz passed on January 15, 2015 at Magnolia Village Nursing Home. She went to join her loved ones who went before her and are waiting for her. She was the youngest of three daughters born to Hugh and Myrtle Robinson in Barberton. Born on January 5, 1927 she lived to have her 88 birthday on January 5, 2015. She graduated from Norton High School and was married to Fred Platz at the age of 20. They were members of Sacred Heart Parish of Wadsworth for many years.
Preceded in death by her husband Fred, parents and her two sisters, Betty Bulick and Eleanore Hughes. She will be missed by her only son Gary (Charlene) Platz of Wadsworth. She was so proud and loved her many nieces and nephews and their families. Her sweet personality and kind spirit will be greatly missed by many.
Over the years she worked side by side with her husband being very independent.They did lots of yard work and gardening.They shared a simple life of over 50 years together. She loved playing cards and visiting with her friends on outings for the day. Her son and wife will miss our adventures to follow the Akron Aeros, now Rubberducks. Her sister Eleanore and she loved the outings and following the Cleveland teams, their shopping outings and even visits to the doctors together. She will miss her many telephone friends. She was a lover of country music, the old recording names of Conway Twitty, George Jones and said she will never forget getting to hear Ray Price at Renfro Valley. She loved her movies and her cowboy shows. To her life should be more like when the Walton’s lived on the mountain.
There will be a procession from Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home on Saturday at 11 AM to Western Star Cemetery to be buried with her husband. Friends and Family are invited to join the procession. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
