Shirley M. Poetter, 90, of Wadsworth passed away February 5, 2016. She was born September 14, 1925 in Allentown PA to the late Martin and Sadie ( nee Eckert) Bachman.

Shirley was a long time member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Doylestown, where she was very active in the Ladies Aide and the Amelia Poetters Women’s Guild. Shirley enjoyed playing cards with her friends, but her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Paul Poetter; children Rod (Violet) Poetter , Dave (Holly) Poetter, Nancy (Stu) Perry and daughter in law MaryEllen Poetter. Grandchildren, Daniel (Connie), Erin (John) Siminerio, Eric, Julie (Mike) Weyand , Jill (Ty) Smith , Carrie (Scott Watts) , Jennifer (Cody) Ulmer , Brian (Delaney Malley), Mark (Jordan) Perry and Matthew Perry. There are 10 great grandchildren with 3 more due in 2016. Brother Ronnie (Tommie) Bachman and sister Geann French.

She is preceded in death by her son Rick and sister Betty Bachman.

Family will receive friends 4 to 7pm Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Emanuel United Church of Christ 16 Eastern Rd. Doylestown, Ohio. Where a Memorial Service will be conducted Friday at 1pm. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
