Obituary
On March 23, 2017, our dad died while surrounded by love. Harold Reese was born on October 11, 1928, to L.D. and Elsa Reese. He resided much of his life in Creston until moving to Wadsworth in 1977 with his wife, Jill. It was there that together they built their “dream home.” Sadly, after 36 years of marriage, Jill lost her battle with cancer in 2005.
A builder, Dad and his crews constructed many homes, primarily in Wadsworth, until his retirement in 2003. As a younger adult he enjoyed pitching for a sandlot baseball team but turned to golf for recreation after retiring.
His joyful wit and loving wisdom will be missed by his children, Jo (Michael) Gruver, Greg (Linda), Dawn (Roger) Hartley, Keith (Barb); step-children, Robin (Daryl) Asmus, Doug Ammons; and foster son Donald Lewis. He will also be missed by his fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, as well as by companion Norma Milum. He will forever be in our thoughts, as are those who have gone before him.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful care professionals at Akron City Hospital (with special recognition to Dr. Gwen Hughes) and Summa Health Hospice, with special thanks to Kristine. We are also eternally grateful to Norma for her loving care in his final days.
A family only graveside service was observed as he requested.
