Robert Edward Robertson, 83, of Sharon Center, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 due to complications of pneumonia, He was born on September 16, 1928 in Akron to the late Elam and Helen Robertson.
He was a graduate of Buchtel High School and attended Kent State University where he met his wife Mary (Texter). Dad was a member of West Good Avenue Church of Christ, an Eagle Scout and a former Scout Master of Troop 411, a unique troop consisting mostly of brother including his two sons. He was a self employed carpenter, loved playing cards and cribbage with his family, hunting, collecting guns, and camping. He was proud of his family and instilled great work ethics in all of his children.
He is survived by his wife Mary with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage, their children: Mindy (Bob) Kshywonis of Granville, OH, Charlie (Helen) Robertson, Jim (Jenni) Robertson and Nancy (Ron) Love all of Sharon Center. There are 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren also surviving.
The family will receive friends 3-7 pm Sunday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 11am Monday with Pastor Jim Duty officiating.
He was our rock and we will miss him.
