Obituary
Richard Brannon Russell, 63, former Vietnam Paratrooper took his final jump Saturday, November 21, 2009. Richard has been a Wadsworth resident since 1975. He was born to Herbert and Winifred (Brown) Russell Oct. 7, 1946 in Weirton, WV.
Richard met his wife of 43 years, Margaret Ann Lewis, in Carroll County, Ohio. Richard was a member of the 101st Airborne Division, the American Legion and the B&W Boilermakers local 900, where he retired from after 29 loyal years. He also expanded his work experience to Buehler’s Bakery and Michael Day Plastics Co. Richard enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and staying home surrounded by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann; children, Shirley Lewis, Richard Russell(Karen), Robert Russell(Laura), and Mary Porter(Matthew); grandchildren, Zachary, Noah, and Chloe Porter; Brannon and Blake Russell. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Winifred Russell: brother, James Russell.
Calling hours will be at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth Tuesday, November 23 from 5-8 pm and Wednesday, November 24, 10:30-11:30am. Funeral services will be 11:30am followed by procession to the Ohio Western Reserve NationalCemetery. Special thanks to Regency Hospital for their care.
