John D. Sakich, devoted husband, loving father and adored Papa of Wadsworth passed away December 12, 2018 at the age of 81. He was born on May 15, 1937 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Adam and Mary Louise (Kaser) Sakich.

John proudly served in the US Army and was employed at Ohio Brass as an electrical engineer for over 45 years. During his career he was awarded six U.S. Patents and was a lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). John enjoyed quiet living, and in 1979 built his family’s home in the country with his brother-in-law Roger Howard. He was an avid reader and loved reading to his grandchildren. He was also a member of the NRA.

He is survived by his loving wife Carol Ann (Howard) Sakich, children Anita (Don) Sullivan and Mike (Cinnamon) Sakich. Grandchildren Clay, Sienna, Samantha, Emma and Maddie. John is also survived by his sister Julie (Robert) Combs.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Hilliard Rospert Funeral Home, 174 North Lyman Street, Wadsworth, Ohio. Graveside services with military honors will take place Tuesday, December, 18 2018 at 11:00am at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio. Please meet at the Welcome Center at 10:45am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Wadsworth Salvation Army or the Medina County SPCA.
