Obituary
Merrilee D’Zurik Sayre, 65, of Wadsworth passed away April 27, 2011. She was born in Wadsworth, Ohio on May 29, 1945 to the late Emil and Margaret D’Zurik. Merrilee was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Smithville where she sang in the choir. She was a 1963 graduate of Wadsworth High School. She went on to graduate with a teaching degree from Wittenberg University and a Master’s of Education from the University of Akron. She was a teacher for 30 years, retiring from Black River Schools in 2000. She was also employed at Clampco Products for the last 10 years. She was an avid Bridge player. She is survived by her daughters Wendy (Ron) Mudra of Tampa, Florida; Kristen Sayre of Wadsworth; granddaughter, Emily Mudra; and former husband, Joseph Sayre of Wadsworth. She is also survived by her sister, Dee Huddilston of Medina. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday, May 6th at The Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street, Wadsworth. The funeral service will be conducted by the Reverend Joseph F. Ertl on Saturday at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment will take place at the Poe Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Saltz family, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summa Hospice, Dr. Mehool Patel and the staff at Lake Medina, Dr. Tom Tan and the staff of the Akron and Wadsworth Dialysis Centers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Smithville, Ohio.
