Charlotte M. Serfass of Wadsworth passed away October 25th at the age of 88. She was born on June 28th,1935 in Wadsworth to the late John and Helen (nee Dunkler) Kelleman. Charlotte graduated from Wadsworth High School and was married to her high school sweetheart Gerald Serfass in 1957. Before starting a family, Charlotte worked at Wadsworth Savings & Loan. Charlotte loved gardening and flowers, sewing, traveling, antiques, was active in the Women’s Auxiliary for Wadsworth American Legion Post 170, enjoyed cooking for funerals at the Wadsworth Trinity UCC, and in her youth was once voted Vassar Queen for the Akron Hungarian Club. She loved her Hungarian heritage which she passed on to her kids through cooking and baking (especially her nut rolls and cookies!).
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, her siblings Johnny, Ernie, Betty and Helen; and a granddaughter Hannah Serfass. She is survived by her brother Steve, children Sandra Henry, David (Janine) Serfass, Sarah (Russell) Mackiewicz and son-in-law Brian Henry; her grandchildren, Abigail, Curtis, Kyle, Destinie, David, Hannah, Sophia, William and Sylvia, and her great-grandson, Vincent. A private service was held at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home in Wadsworth, Ohio on October 27th. She was laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
