June Maxine Mackey Sondles relinquished her role as matriarch of the Sondles and Mackey families, on December 15, 2013,  succumbing to pneumonia. She was born at Custer’s Hook to Grace and William Mackey in 1925.
Graduating from Wadsworth HS in 1943, she worked at the Rexall Drug Store prior to her marriage to Robert (Bob) D. Sondles, Jr. They raised their family R. Dan, Karen Jean Holman and Judi Ann Sondles, in homes build by Bob, on Overlook Ave. and later E. Good Ave.
June did payroll and bookkeeping for Sondles Construction Company in 1960s. June was a Wadsworth Hospital Auxiliary volunteer, working in the gift shop and becoming its buyer. June was a Democratic Precinct Committee Woman and served as a judge in every election in the 1950-1980s. June served as D-Jury Selection Commissioner for the Wadsworth Municipal Court in 1980s. Wadsworth Mayor JD Henson relied on her to manage his campaigns. Medina County Prosecutor Dean Holman could always count on her unqualified support.
Preceding her in death were parents Grace and Bill Mackey, siblings Bill Mackey and Marcene Breece, and her loving husband Bob.
She is survived by her children R. Dan (& Lucy) and Judi Sondles and Karen (& Dean) Holman, grandchildren Jacob, Rob (and Kate), Kate and Hannah, Great granddaughter Evangeline Sondles, in-laws Martha and Ed Ruch, Jim and Janet Sondles, Isabelle and Don Gordon, cousins Jim (& Carolyn) Mackey, Jane (& Don) Barrett, Ann Koch,nieces and nephews and great nieces/nephews.

The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 272 Broad St., Wadsworth.
