Colleen J. Stephenoff, 82, of Wadsworth, OH died peacefully with family by her side Saturday, November 16, 2013 of complications from myelodysplastic syndrome. Mrs. Stephenoff was born in Barberton, OH on February 6, 1931, the daughter of the late Owen Christopher and Opal (Nicodemus) Christopher. Colleen graduated from Doylestown High School and continued her education at the Barberton School of Commerce. She worked as an executive secretary at Goodyear Bank which later became National City Bank. Colleen walked many miles throughout Wadsworth and enjoyed traveling and playing cards. She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and participated in several other ministries. Colleen was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Macke, son Michael, sister Dolores and is survived by son and daughter-in-law Mark and Gail of Hilliard, OH, grandson Kevin also of Hilliard, twin sister Corinne Sheets of Marshallville, sister Sylvia Morrison of Santa Rosa, CA. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Colleen will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother and wonderful grandmother.
Family and friends will be received 4:30 – 7:30 PM Tuesday, November 26 at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 27 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with The Reverend Daniel J. Cammarn officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
