Alan R. Stevenor passed away suddenly on March 20, 2018.

Alan was born in Barberton, Ohio on January 6, 1947. He grew up in Manchester, Ohio. Upon graduation from high school, he joined the United States Navy “to see the world.” And see the world he did, retiring from the Navy as a Master Chief after 21 years of service and travel around the globe. After retiring from the Navy, he attended the Unitiversity of Akron and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. He then went to work for the U.S. Postal Office. After retiring from the Postal Office, Alan spent many hours on the internet carefully planning our U.S. road trip. We traveled to all 50 states, and completed our 20th cruise in February. Our travels included the South Pacific, Christmas markets in Germany, and the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

He was a member of the New Covenant Community Church. He loved to visit with his kids and grandchildren.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Sylvia Stevenor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Susan (nee Heischman); his children, Eric (Chaz), Jeff (Janna), Nick Farmer (Danielle), Andy Farmer (Molly); grandchildren, Sierra, Danielle, Austin, Jake, Bella, and Logan; and his many granddogs. He is also survived by his brother, Larry (Annie); nephew, Brent; his sister, Linda Leasure (Mike); and nephews, David and Seth (Emily); and many other loving relatives and friends.

Family will receive guests from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street, Wadsworth. Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Alan will be laid to rest at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio at 2 p.m.
