Dwain Edwin Stingley, 82 of Wadsworth went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on December 6, 2023. He was born in Akron on October 14, 1941 and lived with his parents on Allard Rd. in Granger Twp. He was preceded in death by his son Brian, older brother Donald.
He attended Granger Elementary School for the first four years, fifth and sixth grade were in Sharon Center and Junior High in Hinckley. After graduating from Highland High School in 1959 he spent a short time in the Army National Guard and Reserves. During that time Dwain began dating Diana Fritz and they were later married on April 20, 1963.
Dwain worked as a pipe fitter for Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Barberton for five years and then 35 years at Akron’s Goodyear as a pipefitter/HVAC/refrigeration technician.
He is survived by his wife Diana, together they raised two children, Brian (deceased) and loving daughter Kelley. Brian had one daughter Amanda (Rob) Witschey, they blessed us with two great grandchildren Elizabeth and Isaac and reside in Sharon Center.
Dwain treasured his family life. There were fun time involving snorkeling, scuba diving, camping, boating, water skiing, dirt bike riding, sailing on Lake Erie and out of the Gulf of Mexico to the Dry Tortugas. There was lots of traveling around the United States and ancient countries as well.
A funeral service will conducted 1pm Monday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 11am-1pm.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery on Wilbur Rd., Granger Twp.
