Obituary
Pauline “Polly” Edna Storm, passed away Monday January 1, 2018. She was born to Ethel and Elmer Detwiler of Seville, Ohio on September 27, 1922. She was the 3rd of 6 Detwiler children. Together with her husband Art, they brought 4 little “Storms” into the world. Daughters Susan and Peg followed by sons, Merle and Paul. Stricken by childhood cancer, the family lost daughter Peg at the tender age of only 3. Together Art and Polly were active in the Wadsworth United Methodist Church, Wadsworth Footlighters and numerous additional organizations.
As empty-nesters, church involvement and grandchildren became the central focus of their lives. Polly also attended the University of Akron and received a 2 year degree in Library Science.
Polly’s enjoyment for the theatrical arts showed itself in many ways throughout her life. Upon Art’s passing, Polly’s eyes opened to another world, as she traveled to Africa on mission work more than 10 times. She once said if her family weren’t here– she’d live in Africa.
Polly knew everyone at the church and if she didn’t know your name, then you were simply “My Friend”.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, spouse Arthur, and daughter Peg, sisters Mildred and Thelma and brother Merle.
She leaves behind with plenty of good memories, daughter Susan (Bruce) Webster, sons Merle (Alison) and Paul (Laurie) Storm, 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, along with sisters Maxine Markley and Marcine Jackson.
The family will receive friends 10am – 12 noon, Saturday, January 13 at the Wadsworth United Methodist Church 195 Broad St., where funeral service will be conducted at 12noon with Pastor Don Ebert officiating. Interment will be in Mound Hill Cemetery, Seville.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wadsworth United Methodist Church Missions or to Wadsworth FISH, P.O. Box 754, Wadsworth, OH 44282.
