Obituary
Gregory James Stricklen, 65, of Wadsworth passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, while doing what he loved, Scuba Diving.
He was born November 12, 1957, in Akron, was a graduate of Norton High School class of 1976 and received a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Pharmacy from The Ohio State University. Greg was a pharmacist employed by CVS/Omnicare in Wadsworth.
He loved the outdoors, traveling, scuba diving, skiing, hiking and backpacking and had hiked rim to rim at the Grand Canyon multiple times. He loved sharing new experiences and new places with his family. Having been a graduate of OSU, Greg was an avid Buckeye fan.
He was preceded in death by his father Gilbert Stricklen and brother Randy Stricklen.
Greg is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cathy (Sweet), daughter and son-in-law Brittany Stricklen-Hillyard and David Hillyard of Columbus, son Benjamin Stricklen of Eagle Vail, CO, daughter and son-in- law Bethany Stricklen and Scott Hager of Columbus. He leaves behind two adorable grandchildren Harrison and Elsie Hillyard, his mother Anita Stricklen of Wadsworth, brother and sister-in-law Mike and Michelle Stricklen of Lexington, OH and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 2-5 pm Sunday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. And 10-11am Monday at First Christian Church 216 E. Boyer St., Wadsworth where a memorial service will be conducted at 11am with Pastor Sarah West officiating.
