Mattie Sue Swain passed away peacefully on her 92nd birthday, April 9, 2014.

Born in Sardis, Ohio, she was one of fourteen children born to the late Alex and Loretta Bolan. Preceded in death by her husband Clyde; brothers Clyde, John, Lonnie, Woodrow, Buck and Edward; sisters Nellie, Myrtle, Josie, Geneva and Norma and great-granddaughter Angie, she is survived by her sisters Juanita and Nonnie Swain; devoted step-children Terry (Donna), Shorty (Brenda); Gary (Melanie) and Susie (Dave); 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.

Mattie proudly attended Culdee Presbyterian Church in North Carolina for many years before moving to Ohio.

The family would like to thank Altercare of Wadsworth Center and Hospice of Medina County for taking special care of Mattie.

The family will receive friends Sunday 1 to 4 PM at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street in Wadsworth, where Pastor Brandon Steele will conduct the funeral service Monday at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Altercare or Hospice of Medina County.
