Daniel James Triffun, 87, of Barberton, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011. He was born on June 20, 1923 in Akron, OH. He was proud to have served in the Army during WWII as a paratrooper and medic in the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked as a Machine Shop Supervisor at Portage Machine Shop in Akron for over 40 years and retired from Triple S Machine Shop in 1984. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church in Norton, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Dora Triffun, his wife Irma, son Jim and sisters Mildred and Sophia Triffun, Olga Lewandowski, and Melina Wilhem.
Daniel is survived by his daughters Donna (Steve) Kshywonis, Leeann (Steve) Pavkov, brother Edward (Doris), sisters Dorothy Kordich and Sophie Jones, grandchildren Danny (Shannon) Kshywonis, Eric and Daniel Kshywonis, Jenna (Dave) Klaehn, Josh, Carson and Jake Pavkov and great grandchildren Zachary and Natalie Klaehn. The family will receive friends 6-9 PM Friday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday with Fr. Jerry Hall officiating. A special thank you to his aides especially Sara who took such good care of him and also to Barberton Hospice.
