Paul “Mike” Mason Vaughn went home to be with the Lord
on Dec. 20, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He wanted to extend
special thanks to Dr. Haas and his staff , and the staff of Summa
Barberton for their wonderful care during his illness.

Paul was born Feb. 23, 1940 in Canton, OH to Ida and Harold
Vaughn. He was the youngest of three children. At the age of 21,
he enlisted in the Army and served at Fort Hood, Texas from
1961-1963 during the Berlin and Cuban Missile/Bay of Pigs
crisis.
In 1964 Paul became a hair stylist in N. Canton, and opened
Vaughn’s Hairstyling where he worked until he retired in 2003.
Paul was well known for his sense of humor and his joy of living.
He was a Master Gardener, and loved being in his hosta beds, and
working in the dirt. No matter what he did, he always had a good time!
Paul was an active member of Trinity UCC, Wadsworth, and an
Exofficio member of the Music and Fine Arts Board.
Paul was preceded in death by his life partner, John P. Howard;
his parents Ida E. and Harold E. Vaughn; and his brother Edward
H. Vaughn. He is survived by his sister Betty Lee (Jim) Gloeckner;
dear friend Richard Hughes; nephew John (Maria) Henning and family;
other nieces, nephews, and family; and many many friends.
Calling hours will be 4-6pm Sunday at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, ­­­­­­
174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth
Services will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ, 215 High Street
Wadsworth, OH Monday at 11:00 am where friends will be received one
hour prior to services from 10:00 -11:00 am.
Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wadsworth.
